Going Down To Downey

This is definitely a well overdue blog post and since I’m in the blogging mood, I figured I’d add this story to the bunch. Two Sundays ago Beth and I decided to go to Revolution Downey. While we were there I decided that I needed to use the restroom just like any other normal person would. So I’m sitting there doing the old standup trick, minding my own business, when I happened to glance over and noticed that not only do they have a nice porcelain tub urinal, they had three nice standup urinals on the adjacent wall in this particular Columbus High School bathroom. I then started thinking to myself, why would someone want to have to aim so precisely in one of those standup urinals when they can have this nice porcelain tub urinal all to themselves? And then I asked the question, why would they have multiple urinals in this restroom? At this same moment I started glancing over to the porcelain tub urinal when I realized it had an interesting flushing mechanism. It had a spout with a push action water valve..that's wierd...hey, wait a second…did I??? Could I of??? And then I glanced over and saw a very nice soap dispenser mounted right next to the water spout…sure enough...I just relieved myself in the porcelain tub “SINK”!!! Here’s to porcelain sinks. Play ball!!!

Thou Shall Eat Pizza

Alright so I'm sorry I’ve been a little behind in the blogging world, but I have a legitimate excuse: business travel. Two weeks ago I was back east which I shared a little with you guys below. Last week I was in Augusta, GA at the Joseph M Still Burn Center which was then followed by Stockton for Jamie’s wedding, which was a very nice wedding weekend if I do say, so, myself. This week I’m in Chicago, thus this blog entry.

Giordano’s of Prudential Plaza is definitely what pizza is all about. If you haven’t had Giordano’s World Famous Stuffed Pizza then you haven’t had pizza at all. Did I say that out loud, quite bold of me isn’t it? Alright, maybe it’s not the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life, but it is pretty good pizza. For those of you in So Cal who think they can get a deep dish stuffed pizza from your local pizza delivery guy, you’re wrong. This pizza takes a minimum of 30-35 minutes to make; therefore it won’t be at your doorstep within 30 minutes or less. OK enough about the pizza just take my word for it…its good pizza. How many times can you say the word pizza in the same paragraph???

Where were you today?

Well let me see...I started off in the Washington DC area, then I was in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and now I'm in New Jersey. Tomorrow I start off in New Jersey, and then drive to New York/Bronx to visit a burn center, back to New Jersey to visit another burn center, and then Pennsylvania where I'll have dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House with a burn surgeon and finally back to my hotel in New Jersey. Oh, did I mention? We may have to stop off at the old cooperate office in Edison, NJ for a little office time, if we can fit it all into our schedule. Wow, I'm tired. Anyways, being that I'm here on business, I really haven't had the time to get out and do any site seeing like a normal tourist. However, we (my Marketing partner and I) had the chance to stop and stretch out our legs at a very interesting, but kind of cool store that I know they wouldn't allow in Newport Beach or even Long Beach for that matter.

...Cabela's???...alright, I really thought I came across something big here, but apparently Cabela's can be found across the entire US. Bummer, I was really looking for that true East coast find. Maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow. In the meantime, you're welcome Cabela's for the free advertisement. And yes, no animals were harmed, injured, or beaten during my photo shoot, they were already dea_/sho_. Sorry, I couldn’t fill in the blanks because I’m afraid I may offend someone, so I apologize in advance. Please disregard the facetiousness. Thanks.

This is what it is all about...

The Great Commission
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:16-20

india oh eight

Here are a few of my favorite photos from India this year. I think I need to hire Beth to help sort them all out, since this is the first time I’ve done anything with them. I know, pretty pathetic, huh? In the mean time, here you go…hot off my hard drive.

Why me?

I don't know, I guess I'm just tired of coming up with excuses on why not. So here you go...stay tuned for the life of Mike. Enjoy!
